Public Awareness Campaign: Bystander Intervention | Fall 2015
1 out of every 5 students experiences rape or sexual assault during their time at college in the United States. 80% of all sexual assaults are committed by an acquaintance of the victim. Colleges are promoting bystander intervention as a method of encouraging students to interrupt situations (or even comments) that promote sexual violence. For my Design Studio I class, I created a series of public awareness campaign posters to bring bystander intervention in the context of sexual violence to the forefront. My audience was high school and college young adults and I chose the It's On Us campaign as my sponsor. I staged and photographed each of the posters around the George Washington University.
